Shifandi Sun is a Chinese designer, she received her bachelor's in Product Design from the University of Oregon and has a master's degree at the School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago, where she was the recipient of a Merit Scholarship.
She later earned an MA degree in Design Engineering from a joint master's program between Brown Engineering and Rhode Island School of Design. Shifandi was often seen as a visionary, her visions might not always be understood by others but she is certainly a bold designer when it comes to designing for people’s needs.
This quality expanded her work to reach across a variety of materials and finishes. She challenged boundaries seeking ways to disrupt the user’s lifestyle, as the user experience is a core driver of her design philosophy. In the era of picking and buying products solely through a screen, designs made for the camera might push numbers, but designs made for humans will outlive them.
